Gina’s iPad Apps

Speech Therapy iPad Apps          Happy august everyone.

It seems that no matter where my travels are taking me, everyone wants to know more about apps that can be utilized in their therapy sessions.  I use an iPad so all of the apps that I am sharing with you today can be found in the Apple(R) App Store.  Some of them may also be available on the android platform in the Google Play Store(R).  If not, you are likely to find an app that is similar.  I thought I would give you a sample of the apps currently on my iPad.  I always create folders that allow me to group apps for a specific treatment diagnosis.  Here are some of my current favorites:

Aphasia:

All of the Lingraphica Lite Apps (free) – speaking, reading, writing, listening and conversation

All of the Tactus Therapy Apps ($) – comprehension, naming, reading, writing, conversation

Word Vault ($) – Articulation, Language, Phonology and Social Vaults

Oral/Verbal Apraxia:

Lingraphica Small Talk Oral Motor Exercises (free) – audio and visual demonstrations

Lingraphica Small Talk Phonemes (free) – production of isolated consonants and vowels with audio and visual demonstrations

Smule Sing (free songs, additional songs can be purchased by genre) – using familiar songs to “unlock” speech

Virtual Speech Center’s Quick Artic (free) – pictures grouped according to individual sounds, all positions of words

AAC:

AbleVox AAC Free – pictures

iSpeech TTS (free) – text to speech

Able Net  Sounding Board (free) – preloaded boards with pictures audio

Alexicom AAC (free) – preloaded boards, pictures and phrases with audio

ShowMe (free) – whiteboard for finger or stylus writing

BrainBaseline HD (free) – higher level executive function activities

US Driving Test (free) – multiple choice answers
