Today is the day. I have been thinking and talking about this website for over a year now and finally came to the realization that I didn’t need to “finish” it in order to actually begin the adventure (with thanks to my patient and supportive web designer). This will be the first of my monthly columns that will address our ongoing need for affordable, creative and functional continuing education opportunities. After 30+ years as a medical speech pathologist, I have many ideas, stories and resources to share. I initially thought of this as my website, but in truth, it is our website. A place to visit and walk away with a new idea, a new resource or a renewed sense of how to bring the joy back into your clinical practice.
This is what you can expect: a monthly column that will offer a new perspective, resource or tool to enhance your clinical practice, descriptions of available seminar and workshop topics, a schedule of my upcoming public events and the creation of an online store. My online store will feature items that I have created to offer you a variety of ways to refresh your approach to assessment and treatment of communication , cognitive and swallowing disorders. Items will include seminar manuals, workshop manuals, diagnosis specific resource guides, assessment materials , therapy activities, cheat sheets, data sheets and app guides. I am having a great deal of fun creating these tools and I look forward to sharing them with you in the near future.
Please feel free to contact me with your questions, suggestions and thoughts; previous attendees at my seminars know that I enjoy interacting with my colleagues, patients and their families. My email address is : geseminars @gmail.com. I sincerely want to know how to provide the most useful and productive content for all who visit the website.
My thanks,
Gina England MA, CCC-SLP
